An Inspiration For ALL;
Little Girls,  Children,  and  Women.

Maggie was Honored by the Minority Golf Magazine above.  Maggie was placed on the Cover of their Magazine, as a Salute to those who gave Meaning to the Golf Game and for Maggie’s Numerous, Historic Contributions to the Game of Golf.  

Western Ave. Golf Course, was a Public Facility being operated by the County, that Excluded anyone who was not White.  Maggie was the First one to correct this Injustice.  Maggie won her case in court, and in time, Western Ave. Golf Course was  renamed to the, Chester Washington Golf Course.

Maggie’s Contributions to Golf, as a Trailblazing Minority Female, should never be forgotten and must be carried forward.  In order to move Maggie’s Contributions to Golf forward, Maggie created her own Corp., ” The Maggie Hathaway Foundation Corporation “.

Maggie closed one interview by saying,,, ” I don’t know of any Woman in America,,, Who has a Golf Course named after them ,,,”.

This photo from 1991, shows Maggie being Honored with a Sculpture of Maggie, inside the Hawthorne Mall, located in Hawthorne Ca.  The Sculpture reached as high as the 2nd Level of the Mall.

Maggie received this Honor for her Accomplishments in Golf, such as; Desegregating County Golf Courses, Entrance for Minorities into Pro Golf  Shops and Golf Club Organizations, as well open Job Opportunities at all levels, for Minorities at Golf Courses.

Maggie’s additional Historic Accomplishments,,, too many to list,,, reflects Maggie’s passion for ‘ Mentoring Young Children ‘.  One of Maggie’s greatest Joy, Guiding Children through their youth, Teaching them to stand up for their rights, Set ambitious goals and Persistence, despite challenges.
